1. Who We Are

KAVEI ("we", "our", "the app") is a mobile application developed by Leon Kaplun. The app helps Jewish users track daily mitzvot, study Torah content, and monitor spiritual growth. Contact: leon.kaplun@gmail.com

2. What Information We Collect

KAVEI is designed with privacy as a core principle. Here is exactly what we collect:

• Nothing you don't give us. We do not require account registration to use the core features of the app.
• Local data only (no account required): Your mitzvah completions, streak count, points, and custom mitzvot are stored locally on your device only.
• If you create an account (optional): We collect your email address for account management purposes only.
• Purchase information: KAVEI is currently free and contains no in-app purchases or donations. If a paid tier is added in a future version, payments will be processed exclusively by the Apple App Store (In-App Purchase / StoreKit) on iOS and by Google Play Billing on Android. We never receive your payment card details, and we do not solicit donations through the app.
• Anonymous usage analytics (optional): We may collect anonymous, aggregated usage data (e.g., which features are used most) to improve the app. This data cannot be linked to you personally.

3. Torah Content

Daily learning content (Chumash, Tehillim, Tanya, Rambam) is sourced from Sefaria.org, a free, open-source Jewish library. Sefaria's privacy policy applies to any direct interactions with their API. KAVEI does not store or transmit the content you read.

4. How We Use Information

• To provide and maintain the app's functionality
• To process and validate any future in-app purchases (none currently offered)
• To improve the app based on anonymous usage patterns
• We do not use your data for advertising
• We do not sell your data to third parties — ever
• We do not share your data with other users

5. Data Storage and Security

Your spiritual data (mitzvah completions, points, streaks) is stored locally on your device using the standard secure storage provided by your operating system. If you do not create an account, your data never leaves your device.

7. Children's Privacy

KAVEI is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request deletion of your data
• Opt out of analytics at any time in app Settings
• Export your data (coming in a future update)

9. Shabbat Awareness

KAVEI is designed to respect Shabbat. The app uses your location only on-device to calculate when Shabbat begins and ends in your area, and automatically displays a Shabbat countdown and a quieter visual theme during those hours. KAVEI's core mitzvah-tracking features work fully offline. The current version does not send any push notifications. If notification features are added in a future version, this section will be updated to describe how they behave during Shabbat.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the app grows. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or by email (if you have an account). Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
